A Treat from Wonderland

with the biggest of love seasons....chasing us down til' the weekend...
I thought, "what better time to splash on some "Eau De Alice In Wonderland"....than now....I think the real movie (Tim Burton style), comes out March 5th!

So let's go back...back in time...when I was cranking out costume videos like the Queen of hearts yelled "off with their heads!".....

these were some of my favorite looks to do....I hope you enjoy!

SIDENOTE: I played Alice, yes I broke the mold as the brunette-Alice, In Wonderland. I remember I even got to create the outfit...a 3-tiered skirt, each layer was a diff NEON color....with hi-top shoes, a neon green shirt, that I think I be-dazzled with either jewels or puffy paint! (Not nearly as fun as my friend Adam, who decorated his ride-able lawn mower with Puffy Paint...ha ha ha) I thinkI had a matching headband with crazy curly ribbons in matching NEON fashion! Yay early 90's! ha ha ha
(my favorite time to be on the teacups- across from the Alice in Wonderland ride, afternoon sunlights...glowing up the sky, and the candy-colored lamps above, begin to glow their sugary colors! Spin baby spin!)
The Alice In Wonderland ride at Disneyland is still one of my favy-favs! Just the wiggly ride out onto the flower leaves, on a lavender caterpillar....with giant flowers.....come on! And it's right across from the teacups....another of my favorite rides! (And Hi to Ashley Lujan!!! That's where we got to meet!xoxo)(me twirling into delerium on the teacups at Disneyland)

So here we go....may you have a delightful day....and if it feels overwhelming....upside down, chaotic, sad, maddening....may you think of the Wonderland.....there is wonder all around us....we just need to put on our "wonder-eyes" to see it!!!

oh my! oh my white rabbit! Get ready to glam it up at a tea party..with URBAN DECAY's fabulous new book of eyeshadows...that is celebrating Disney's Alice In Wonderland movie....

the girls at Urban Decay, sent me this adorable little treasure to show all of you before it comes out!!!! It came in a box with a little bottle of Godiva White chocolate sauce with a tag that said: DRINK ME...a little "giant" pill case, with mints...and a beautiful mug with a "K" on it! It was like an adventure just opening it!!!

I immediately smacked these colors on my lids....these colors create the most beautiful smokey eye....and just wait til I play around with the colors!!!! This is an AWESOME deal to get all these colors, the eye primer, 2 eye liners....and all these beautiful, pigmented colors!!!

Thanks so much to Kat at Urban Decay for sending this to me! I was like a little girl at Christmas opening this!!! I love it!!!

May I present, Her Royal Highness...the Queen of Hearts!
(this is my version of the Queen of Hearts, played by Helena Bonham Carter, in Tim Burton's, Alice In Wonderland....and her royal make-up!

Mad Hatter (Johnny Depp in Alice In Wonderland) Make-Up

when I was 12...I auditioned for the role of Alice, in Alice In Wonderland..it was a musical.
I got the part (insert...YAY!)...I made my outfit...a NEON Alice In Wonderland...3 tiered neon orange, green and pink skirt
neon shirt...neon headband, and some sort of brightly colored footwear, I'm sure....memory is a little hazy...ha ha ha
I sang, I wandered (under pink and orange stage lights)...talked to caterpillar's...
it was fun....every night, I loved it!

My favorite part about make-up, is the art and creative thinking that is involved...
this look was so fun to come up with...as an artist, this is my favorite...really "painting" and "designing" a look...


for the EYEBROWS...I first tried a gigantic pair of fake eyelashes...they looked bad....then I remembered I bought feathers for the Marie Antoinette look....so away I went to glue some feathers for eyebrows....I like the "Artsy" feel that they gave...very ethereal!

may I mention, that I really like Johnny Depp...(even when he was on 21 Jump Street...ha ha ha)



HAIR COLOR TIP: spend an extra dollar and buy the good hair color spray...mine was the store brand (Target, Wal-Mart, etc)....and it stunk, didn't really cover well....spend the extra 75 cents or so...it's worth it!

(before the ceremonial 10 face washings....to remove all feather-glue traces...)
